Kilt Hose and Knee Brace
So there's a local dance on the 14th - a Valentines gig themed Leather and Lace. Since I can't find any lace in my size decided to wear a leather RKilt with leather vest.
Recently found out the medial meniscus in my left knee is blown and I was perfecting my Gerald Ford and Chevy Chase playing Gerald Ford imitations. Tiring of that got a knee brace to let me gimp around until I can see the knee doctor.
Question is, should the knee brace go over the kilt hose or should I attempt to stretch the kilt hose over the knee brace?
Thanks for suggestions from other kilted gimpers.

Take a look at all the knees at the top of this page for a hint. Not quite the same, but just to know that it does indeed happen. Which way will do less damage to your knee and your kit?

I'd put the brace over the hose. Bob and I agree that getting old is the pits!

Ron... Sorry to hear of your knee issues. I would think depending on the brace design that the kilt hose could go over the lower part. Folding it below the brace would also be an option. Or you could find a comfortable chair and just let the ladies come to see you!

I would suggest putting the brace over the hose. I think trying to cover the brace with the hose would only attract more attention and ruin a perfectly good pair of hose. And I agree, getting old is not for wimps. Go have lots of fun.

I'd keep thehose folded a bit lower so they are below the brace and not between it and the leg, don't stretch and ruin the hose by pulling them over. If you have them under the brace there may be some rubbing or chafing so keep an eye on the area.

I actually had a similar situation recently when I was placed in a "walking cast" or air-cast for several weeks after somehow getting compression fractures to my foot, right before a "pre-hogmanay" party we were having. Even though the air cast was so long that it almost covered the kilt hose entirely and you could only see about 1 inch of the top sticking out from under the cast, I wanted to still look as traditional as I could, so both hose went on. I even created a way for my hose flash to go on over the air cast so both sides would be seen, lol.

I also would put the brace over the hose so you don't stretch em, but I imagine it could get itchy with the wool hose mashed against your leg with an undoubtably hot knee brace

I think doing either would somewhat negate the effectiveness of the brace.
Fold the hose so they're below the brace, if possible.
