Didn't think that it would happen, I think it is great.
Are you saying we are eccentrics?
I would like to see the fashion of the sporran or front/side bag/purse come back as much as I would like to see an increase in kiltwearers.
Has anyone looked at the history of such bags in various cultures?

Nelson,
That's good to here as I was contemplating that one too.
Graham,
I think I would prefer "colourful". Especially wearing a MacGregor tartan.

There was a stretch back in the 70s when male purses and belt pouches were somewhat fashionable. I had a belt pouch made of buffalo hide back then. One of my daughters in law has it now. One of my cousins still carries his "purse".

I have been so pleased with my BK sporran (It's all I've worn since it arrived.) that I have ordered a country sporran in black.

I have one of the black Rob Roys that Rocky is selling and like it very much. I especially like the magnetic closure on it, which makes it very easy to open and close without looking like you're playing with yourself.
But really it's a great value. I have been looking around for other sporrans and find that the ones I like are all well over $100.
The other well priced sporrans I'm interested in are the ones made by our own Freelander here. The current exchange rates placed them favorably in the same ballpark as the BK sporrans, but they are getting positive reviews here and are each unique works.
Craigie makes some nice looking ones but I am having some second thoughts now because the sporran strap I ordered from them is like a week overdue now with no response from them as to when I can expect delivery.

Hmmmn! It may be practical to you Casey! I currently have eleven sporrans, the most recent addition being Freelander Sporrano's super number but, even with 41 kilts (and two on order) I think those eleven are probably sufficient for my needs ........... for the time being, at least!
By the way, one of the eleven is a Buzz Kidder Inverness in black. A great sporran - but you have to be careful to tighten and tie the 'drawstrings' or it all falls open when loaded!
