    How acceptable would this be?

In over 6 decades of wearing formal attire I have accumulated a variety of items. In question are 2 silver colored silk waistcoats or vests, one 3 buttoned and one 5 buttoned. These I have worn with tuxedos but never highland attire. Now I am going to most dressy events kilted. Would they also be appropriate to wear with a PC or Argyll jacket?

My first thought would be yes, as long as they are cut high enough that they don't interfere with your sporran.

I'll add, how much do you want to draw attention to yourself. The kilt will attract a good bit on its on accord. Fit with a PC jacket and dressier sporran, you may set a new standard for the other party attendees dress choices.
