New from House of Cheviot: Kyle kilt hose / shooting socks

I just picked up a new offering from House of Cheviot. They are kilt/shooting socks called the "Kyle". I got mine from New House Highland (our own scholar Matt Newsome's business) via Amazon. I got the "scotchpine" color with purple accents, and it goes splendidly with my Isle of Skye kilt.

And, why not? Actually, I suspect in this case they are using "kyle" as in river estuary such as, the kyle of Durness, or kyle of Sutherland for example. I could be wrong though.

Talking of "our Kyle", I trust that he is keeping well. Has anyone any news?

Kyle, from Gaelic caol, meaning slender, thin, narrow, attenuated; a narrow, strait, sound; the small parts of the body or limbs.

An Caol Muileach: The Sound Of Mull.

ao is a cool sound, like a German umlaut, it strikes me.

About the socks, I do prefer having the stripes at top and bottom of the cuff rather than what I usually see, one stripe in the middle of the cuff.

Kyle chose to take a break from posting here but I still keep in occasional contact with him through Facebook.
