New Freedom Kilt Arrived
I ordered my custom Freedom Kilt on October 20th, and today, October 29th it arrived at my door, washed and pressed(Steve said it might take a few extra days because of the orders generated by his article). How's that for service?
Anyways, I posted a pic of it in my gallery. Fits like a glove.

Looks good Oliver. And you've got your best imposing look going to boot! Give us a review when you've had a chance to wear it a bit.

Good looking kilt. Now, you gotta do like rhino and me and learn to smile. Why should we be the only ones with cracked faces.

Oliver,
That is a super-looking kilt (is it Chocolate Brown, by the way?).
You wear it very well and your complete outfit is beautifully co-ordinated. Congratulations! If that doesn't get a few hearts racing, I don't know what will!
I agree about the smile, however............!!

A fine looking kilt. Thanks for the pic.
I have two Freedom Kilts, love 'em. Steve does good work doesn't he?

Yes, it is. It's listed as "Coffee Brown" on the site.

Since my other traditional is an Utilikilt Original model, that's what I have to reference it by. Nothing against UK's, which I like a lot. I've been wearing it all day, and out to a few errands, so here's my review:
Customer service: custom work, very fast turnaround (even compared to in-stock vendors), 100% refund policy
Quality: heavier material than UK so it hangs better/harder to wrinkle, excellent stitchwork, great fit and hang, noticeably deeper pleats
Design: Wider apron and uni-directional pleats make it more "kilt-like", buttons instead of snaps (including buttons on waist which allow you to go belt-less unlike the UK), deeper reverse pleats.
Appearance/comfort: the pleats on my UK would often bunch up, making for a more "skirt-like" appearance; this one has a cleaner, slimmer look and feel. The buttons give it almost a "cavalry" look. Comfortable and modest, similar to a UK, but with a more fitted feel.
Sum-up: definitely not a UK clone, high quality, unique and very practical design. I recommend it to anyone who wants something that's both sturdy and at the same time capable of looking dressed-up.

A quick question. I was thinking about getting a black mocker from UK. I looked at your kilt and the Freedom Kilt website. It looks if I add The Double Welt, Rear Pocket Option to a black freedom kilt, I will have something similar. I will have it quicker and maybe for a little less money.
What you you think?

Yes, adding a rear pocket would make the Freedom Kilt similar to the UK mocker kilt, although there are many other differences that are subtly noticeable in a photo, and more noticeable as the wearer.
