Have a look at the carryall sporrans that Freedom Kilts has. click on their ad at top of page. Stillwater Kilts used to have a similar one in either nylon or leather.

This is an excellent question, and one that most of us have had to face. For inexpensive, I would go with a Stillwater Kilts Cargo sporran, very roomy, and quite well made for the money. Unfortunately, it appears from the website, that Jerry doesn't have any in stock at the moment. The SWK website only shows what he has in stock. You could call and see if more are expected in soon. IIRC, the nylon Cargo sporran is about $30, and the leather versions a bit more. this is about as cheap as it is possible to go, and get a functional product. By the way, any of the suppliers here on XMarks may be relied upon. Freedom Kilts has the Carry All sporran line. A good bit higher quality, very nice, for $120-145, depending on exact style. I have both of these, and they are both excellent products for the price. If you can swing the Carry All price, it is a much better looking and better constructed sporran, but the Cargo sporran I have I have used in casual, "rough" situations for years and it has given good service. You can see Steve of Freedom Kilts in one on pics on the site occasionally. I wouldn't look at anything higher priced than that for a standard sporran than the Carry All, as you won't be getting any more for your money. That said, a lot of "Rob Roy" style sporrans are roomier, but usually less well organized, since they are essentially a bag with a closure and a strap. The price and quality range about considerably, as well. Look around at the various suppliers on the site, many of which sell sporrans, look at product reviews. Myself, I but a ton in my sporran. My go to sporrans are my Carry All from Freedom Kilt, and a custom made "Rob Roy" with a cigar box flap closure from Wyvern Leatherworks.

    Welcome to XMarks and kilting!
