Handmade Kilt Hose

If anyone watches the 'New Members' forum, I was on here long ago and I knitted some kilt hose for a few lads. This is a picture of a pair I knitted for myself.

Well done, that's a nice pattern (and I like the rug, too LOL). Where did it (pattern, not rug) come from?

No pattern, I just kind of went at it with cables and seed stitch.

That pattern looks like the front of an old "Sailor's" sweater I used to have. It was named Gloucester weave (referenced to the NC coastal town and not other fine cities in the US and abroad.)
