I like it. I like the three button pattern. If you think it a bit much, could you try a solid waistcoat? It might depend upon the occasion if you go bright and beautiful or more subdued. Wear it often in good health and happiness.

Yes indeed jackets (both Highland and Saxon) buttoned higher then, with correspondingly shorter lapels.

    Like this

Perhaps the shortest lapels/highest buttoning jacket I have in my collection

I really like the cut of this "day" jacket and waistcoat (which has lapels as was mentioned above)

Here's a 'saxon' length jacket worn with the kilt, with the nice short Victorian lapels

I think the 3 button jacket looks fine. I have Argyle jackets with 1,2 and 3 buttons. The 3 button suits the tweed.

Mike , I like it a lot , always loved the brown based tweeds . I don't think it's too busy . I suppose it could come across that way if you were to wear it with a rather complex tartan kilt . Although it should go quite nicely with many tartans .

Rocky offers a nice sporran that would compliment the look and your shoes .

Of course , one can always find a reason to add more kit .

    Cheers , Mike
