Yes, we have become inured to violence on TV. Regardless, I'm not making a political statement; I'm just saying that I don't find (attempted) rape on TV as entertaining. Also, I find it demeaning that a female medical doctor requires instruction on how to knife someone effectively to kill them. I would think she already possesses that knowledge.

As a point of clarification, Claire is not a physician at this stage of her life -- she was a combat nurse in WWWII. She later trains as a physician after returning to the "present".
A bit off topic, but I posted under The Tartan forum that it has been announced that The Celtic Croft will be the official Outlander store, and the tartans woven for the series will be available through them: http://www.kilts-n-stuff.com/outland...ander-tartans/

Having Flown on a Saudi Airlines flight, where A Bond Movie was shown that had been censored, all touching between male and Female plus all shots of Women in anything less than fully dressed were removed, it made for a short not very enjoyable movie that didn't make much sense!

If the attempted rape of Claire by Black Jack Randall bothers you, then you definitely should not watch any further. Black Jack is a SERIOUSLY depraved individual and I'm not sure how they're going to approach the tail end of book one (even on cable).

I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.

Re "Sleazy Kilt Porn", I didn't see any evidence of a kilt in the opening scene, or indeed any other garment! Shame you did not watch the rest of it, it did deviate from the book in a couple of places and the end point was fairly predictable to those who know the story, but it was still enjoyable.
If you are going to do it, do it in a kilt!
