    Fabulous pics.
I've been to Matlock many years ago.
I'd love to visit Peak Rail heritage railway at Matlock some day.
Went to Crich Tramway Museum for the Glasgow 50th Anniversary event in 2012 but we only rode the Matlock train as far as Whatstandwell.

You'd be welcome anytime, but accommodation is a little limited with daughter and grandson living with us.
If you are going to do it, do it in a kilt!

tpa: Very inviting pics. Thanks for posting. I enjoyed the commentary, too. Love that tartan and kilt. Looks good on you.

I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.

Yes, the railway runs into Matlock station now from Rowsley.
There are other a number of other steam railways in Derbyshire, like the Midland Railway at Butterly.

It is called Riber Castle. Originally built in 1862, it is being converted into flats at present; you can see glass in the windows, a very recent addition. For some years it was home to a wildlife park. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Riber_Castle Here is what it looked like in 2010.
