    Some years back there was a fashion for Argyll socks with Saxon clothing, I do wonder if they went out of fashion for the Kilted folk a the same time as they did for Saxon clothing. However a quick scan on the internet seems to show Argylls are still easily available for Saxons http://www.next.co.uk/x554510s8?i=9-...FYuWtAodTjsADQ
    It's a pity they are too short for us.

    It's a pity they are too short for us.
    I wear argyle socks with Saxon dress at least once if not twice a week, but then I am a bit eccentric.

    In the 1940s and early 1950s I always wore argyle socks. They were what all the young boys wore in those days. It wasn't until I joined the Navy that I started to wear plain black socks.
    I would wear them again if I could find then in any of the stores.
