DO you have a favourite level of traditional dress?
NOTE: In case you found this thread through New Posts, just an FYI that it is in the Traditional Kilt Wear section and I'm looking to discuss the traditional approach in this thread.
Do you have a favourite level of Traditional Highland Civilian Dress?
Obviously, it is best to wear what's appropriate for the given situation and there is absolutely no need to play favourites. That said, if you did have to choose, which level* would it be and why?
*By level, I generally mean:
Casual day wear (sweater and collar)
Informal day wear (Tweed jacket and tie)
Formal day wear (Black Barathea Silver Button Argyll)
Formal evening wear/black tie level (Prince Charlie and black bowtie or acceptable equivalent)
Full Formal evening wear/white tie level.
Feel free to post pics to illustrate your choice!

No favourite, I am equally happy to wear whatever the situation dictates.

Informal day wear for me. Like Shaun said, Texas isn't exactly the type of place you want to wear a jacket much, but it's my favourite style for wearing a kilt.

Daywear tweed as Shaun's photos depict is my favorite form, and what I wear most often.

I would say smart daywear/informal daywear. I love them all, but the chance to wear my loved tweeds and waistcoat makes me happy.
Here is a link to a pinterest page I started with some of the different ensembles I have put together. It ranges a variety of levels of dress and ranges from very traditional to bordering on a little historical.

Cheers. I in fact just purchased a new Harris tweed Argyll and vest combo (which I needed like a hole in the head. I have far too many as it is) from a source discussed previously (with some negativity regarding the average fit from a couple of members). I had a 100% positive experience and opinion of the product and vendor, and am in the process of writing a full blown review to be posted separately.
