    I think the author has serious mental issues looking at the rest of the rubbish on the site.

    Father Bill , it just occurred to me that I have sinned a bit too much lately . Alas , I fear that I am in need of your Holy Water ... wait a minute ... I meant in need of your counsel .

    Well, looks like the rabble has done a number on his site. The page now goes to a 404, and the domain terminates in a 403.

    I recall a previous thread in which the anti-kilt brigade argued that Old Testament robes were unlike the kilt, being ankle-length. This seems to be contradicted by God's instruction in Exodus 20 v.26: "Neither shalt thou go up by steps unto mine altar, that thy nakedness be not discovered thereon." Does this not imply a shorter garment? It can be endlessly intriguing to debate this sort of point! Apparently, there were problems about "going regimental" even in those days.

    Yes, yes, all very interesting. Could some one pass me the marmalade please?

    I feel sorry for these guys, partially because I have family members that, at least for a time, went down that road. These guys are more obsessed with hell than goths (the subcultural people, not the ancient goths). Usually it's because they have something hidden in their closet that they feel is going to make them go to hell and they are trying to prove to themselves that they aren't.

    Of the ones I knew in high school (remember, I'm from Oklahoma, and this stuff is everywhere out here), several switched from being irritating religious radicals to irritating political radicals. They move from extreme to extreme, and it's almost always a way to make themselves feel like they are among the chosen few.

    I realise there are fire and brimstone preachers in the U.S. Thankfully I think they are mainly restricted to that continent.

    It's my understanding that they are here because European countries kicked them out.

    Why is it that when I read such things like this I am reminded of the lines attributed to the Irish of "There are only two things to worry about..." The last lines of which are:

    And when you die, you have only two things to worry about; whether you go to heaven or you go to hell.
    If you go to heaven, you have nothing to worry about;
    And if you go to hell, you'll be so busy shaking hands with all of your friends that you won't have time to worry!
    I've found that most relationships work best when no one wears pants.
