advice please
Hello all
I have a wedding coming up the end of this month and im currently getting what I'm wearing ready. And I'm not sure on a few things, I have an anderson tartan kilt and ill be wearing a grey tweed waistcoat, I also will be wearing blue hose and my question to put before you fine lot is, would a lighter blue shirt be too much blue? Should I go white shirt and white hose. To be honest I think I will like the look of the blue. All your opinions would be greatly received.
All the best
Gavin

If it were me and just going with what you have, I would go with white shirt and blue hose.

I could do that I also have a anderson neck tie do u reckon a white shirt would be better to accentuate the tartan in that region

White shirt, blue hose, complimenting but not tartan tie - believe it or not, you can have too much tartan.
No tartan garters either. Red is neutral, again, believe it or not.

I'll second Father Bill's idea of red garters (flashes), also, Jock Scot is right on with the white shirt and blue hose. It will offset the abundance of blue.

All good advice ... and don't wear the white hose which would make your outfit look like it is hired.

I have been wearing an Anderson Tartan kilt for around 60 years now and for this sort of occasion it has always gone with blue lovat hose, similar tie and white shirt. I don't have a grey waist coat, although I'm sure that will be fine; I have had lovat jackets, the current one being dark blue. Keep the blue shirt for casual wear and die the white hose with a mixture of green and blue and create some lovat ones.
If you are going to do it, do it in a kilt!

First of all is it your wedding? If so dress it up a bit and go with a jacket. Regarding a matching tartan tie, I think it looks fine.... The separation that the vest/waist coat provides imho makes the excess of tartan fine. Ditto flashes.... If you like it, go for it. I have always admired the Anderson tartan.
Cheers
