I'm all in on this thing Stephan!! Been pestering figheadair for about a year now. The more quantity, the better the price. This is quite a unique opportunity, one that may or not become available ever again!!

Sorry for my silence— I've been contacting kiltmakers to ask a few questions before o decide exactly how much yardage I'll be needing.
Would y'all think less of me if I had it made into a 9yd knife pleat rather than a traditional 4-6yd box pleat? This is kind of where I'm at right now.

    Thinking & Re-thinking

Life is short and this is such a beautiful sett--is it still possible to get in on this run?

Never mind what I said before.

    Absolutely.

I'm meeting Robin Elliot today and will report back later on the likely timeframe.

OrpheusTheGreen, no one would think any less of you no matter what type of kilt you go with. It's going to be your tartan, I believe that how it's pleated is entirely up to you. I'm going box pleat, but that's just me. I have a friend that just had 1790 MacDuff done in the traditional "tank" knife pleat, all though the period in which this kilt and tartan hale from, is box pleated. He chose knife pleat for many reasons, many of which I imagine, you're processing through yourself. So go with your gut Orpheus, that is generally what will make you the happiest.
