Great to have you along, Susan. I can give a big to both Barb's book and Kilt Kamp. I attended last year in Victoria and it was a great experience. Not only will you learn a log about kiltmaking, but you will put faces to the names of some of these great folks.

    Welcome Susan
I hope to get The Art of Kilt Making in the near future (it's a bit of a bother being in Australia)
In the meantime download the X Kilt manual and read about 10 times so you can translate it from 'bloke speak' into domestic sewing speak. It has great information and instructions, it's just written really differently to what we are used to.
Once you've made a couple of casual X Kilts & RevK's figuring out how to construct a traditional kilt will come as a natural progression. There is heaps of information on here that you can use as resources.
    Best of luck
    LG

Welcome from the shores of Lake in the Hills, Illinois!

I see others have (ahem) piped in about Barb's book and about kilt kamp, I have the book already, I'm hoping to some day get to the kamp thing!

    Glad to have you aboard!

Hello, Susan! I used to live in the Bay Area and miss it a great deal.

I see Steve already provided a great response. You will certainly find the group here is very helpful. Best of luck!

    And.... Welcome, from Rhode Island.
