Dude, there's a couple bouncers there that not only own kilts... but one is a SportKilt distributor.

Kildare's is a favorite stage for Barleyjuice, and one of my favorite dinner spots. Not only are we all in kilts, but we go there OFTEN in the kilts to see other groups like The Hooligans, Stone Soup, Bogside Rogues, and Birnam Wood. If I go there in anything BUT a kilt... that's when I get looks!

Anyone want to have a kilt night NOT at a bar?
It's been on my mind recently to organize some kind of regular get-together at a coffee house in my neighborhood. They serve coffee and tea drinks as well as beer and wine. They also serve salads and sandwiches. With couches, small tables with chairs, bookshelves, and a little fish tank, the place has a homey atmosphere and is open to those who would not be allowed in a bar due to age.

They also have live music sometimes.

I think of it as a place to socialize and maybe have a drink, without drinking being the central theme as it tends to be in a bar.

Right now it's an idea in the fetal stages, but the more I think about it, the more I like it.

I live in Audubon, so KOP Kildares is the closest, although I have been known t take a road trip to West Chester and I was at the staff party opening for the one in Manayunk. I bounced there for a little while before my back started giving me problems. That's one place that is DEFINITELY used to seeing guys in kilts. Ask either of the head bouncers (Bob or Burt) about Rocky... they have a few stories.
