    Bonny Bonnie, in the Highlander.

Kilt maker and member/advertiser on X Marks, Bonnie Heather Greene was featured in an article in the July/August 2015 issue of The Highlander magazine.

The article, entitled "14th Annual Tartan Day On Ellis Island Delight Thousands" and is on pages 66-67 and Bonnie is in two of the photos in the article. It's an interesting article about the event and includes some historical information about Ellis Island and Captain Kidd.

But, it's our Bonnie that caught my attention. To quote the article:
"Renowned kiltmaker Bonnie Heather Greene led a demonstration and had many sample kilts on hand to try on, a huge hit for young and old alike."

    Way to go Bonnie!

Simon Fraser fought as MacShimidh, a Highland chief… wrapped and belted in a plaid over the top of his linen shirt, like his ordinary kinsmen. He put a bonnet on his head, and stuck the Fraser emblem, a sprig of yew, in it. With the battle cry, A'Chaisteal Dhunaidh and the scream of the pipes, they charged to battle. Bonnie is always a great ambassador for kilt making and kilt wearing. Way to go Bonnie.

Wow! What a happy surprise! Thanks for discovering and sharing that, Nile ! I hope a can track down a copy of the The Highlander magazine.

It was a wonderful 3 days on Ellis Island during NY Tartan week.

There was a group of high school kids there, and quite a few of them asked if they could try on some kilts and get their pictures taken. It was such a delight, that the teenagers were so interested in kilts. Quite a few wanted to get a kilt of their own, but said they'd have to save up.

It turns out that this same group of kids are members of a choir and did an impromptu performance there. They sang an absolutely beautiful version of Loch Lomond. It was almost ethereal in the large hall of the museum there on Ellis Island.
