Bride Criticises Piper for Drinking Blackcurrant Juice!
http://www.the-gazette.co.uk/news/ro...las-text-rant/
Craig Lawrie, from Paisley, was left stunned after he received a ranting text from the woman who gave him a telling off after she found a picture of him sipping a ‘pint.’
After demanding money back from him, the 26-year-old messaged her back to explain that it was actually just a pint of blackcurrant and lemonade — but the unhappy lady responded by saying it still ‘didn’t look good in photographs.’
Now the text messages exchanged between the pair have gone viral online, with Facebook users leaping to the defence of Craig, who maintains his innocence at the event.
One text from the new bride, who we have chosen not to name, said: “Hi Craig, firstly thank u for piping at our wedding, every1 loved it and it defos (sic) made our special day.
“I have 1 issue how ever. In one of our guest’s photos your (sic) seen drinking a pint and I’m not happy at this — I hired u thinking u were a proffesionle and don’t want to look through photos on fb (Facebook) to se emy piper drinking as “I think this would effect your performance to pipe me and my husband into dinner. I want my money back because I’m not happy the photos being ruined. Please respond.”
After receiving the text, Craig was so shocked that he decided to post the message online, resulting in a flurry of outraged friends leaping to his defence.
Craig, a former pupil at Linwood High, said: “Waking up this morning to 276 friend requests, 64 notifications, voicemails from newspapers, private mails from some very ‘nice’ gentlemen and also a few booking enquiries has certainly shocked me. This is outrageous.
“Never once expected the reaction it has. As this is my job I don’t want to put brides off hiring me. But it is quite funny and I do find her sheer audacity rather amusing.”
After finding the situation amusing, Craig posted a screengrab of the message along with his response, which told the bridezilla that getting her money back was ‘absolutely out of the question,’ as he had only been drinking fizzy juice.
But he was stunned further when she launched an astonishing attack on him saying: “Craig ur taking the piss u were not professionle (sic) — doesn’t matter what you were drinking — doesn’t look gd in fotos (sic).
“I would never hire u again. Ur a terrable piper.”
His posts of the texts on Facebook have been shared hundreds of times now and he has been inundated with a flurry of friend requests.
However Craig has seen the amusing side of it — and on Friday posted a picture of drinking a bottle of cider for a joke.
Speaking of texts, Craig said: “She’s unreal. I was totally shocked when I got the message and thought it was a wind up. I was waiting for her to say ‘I’m only joking!’”
“When I first got the text I felt like never doing another wedding again. I can’t wait to have a pint at the next wedding — I’ll set up a website.”
His post has even been shared by Scots comedian Kevin Bridges, who wrote: “State of this. Piper shows up, does his pipes and gets sent this. Seriously, get a life.”

Did she seriously expect the man to work her whole wedding and never take a drink the whole time? And did she seriously expect that it was his fault that one of her guests took a photo?

This is actually a thing, believe it or not. Some photographers won't have anything to drink at all at weddings, or they'll only drink what is very clearly bottled water. Even though I don't worry about it, it's still in the back of my mind whenever I go to the bar to grab a soda or even just have a cup of coffee. Often when a bride or groom pulls a stunt like this it's because they're scumbags who are trying to squeeze money out of their vendors. Screaming "ZOMG YOU WERE DRINKING" gives them what they think is leverage. Had this been here in 'murica she probably would have threatened to sue.
I wouldnt feel feel too sorry for the groom either. He may very well have gotten the bride wound up about this to begin with, and at the very least is probably supporting her insanity.

I guess she's never been to a Burns Night. Can you imagine the piper not getting his dram after piping in the haggis?

Sigh. It sounds like this bride spent a long time in Japan. That is common over there -- it is not permitted to be seen drinking anything (water, coffee, juice, doesn't matter) in the presence or company of clients/customers/students. I know many westerners who have quickly run afoul of that little peculiarity when they go to work in Japanese schools or companies. Whereas I am used to the western style where just about everyone has a water bottle or to-go coffee cup in-hand at all times.
