World Pipe Band Championships 2015 live streaming
Just a heads-up, it's that time of year again, the World Pipe Band Championships!
Seems they will do the Live Streaming as in years past. I never miss it!
This year the competition will start on Friday, so that there will be two days.
Here's the site

You're very welcome!
Just finished watching the first heat, the MSR Qualifiers, from Arena 1.
The format now is to have the bands play both an MSR and a Medley on Friday to qualify for the Finals on Saturday.
Arena 2 is being streamed on Meerkat. There are so many Grade One bands that they have to use two arenas.
Too bad I have to head off for work now. The cool thing, at least with the Arena 1 streaming, is that as soon as a band is finished their video shows up on the page right below the Live Streaming window, so you can hear any band you want at your convenience. Hopefully when I get home from work I can use this to catch up with what I've missed.
I'll be listening early on Saturday for the Finals.

MSR has ended, now time for the lunch break (ironic because it's 5am here in California) and the Grade One Finals will resume at 1500 Glasgow time with the Medley.
It's so wonderful hearing the great bands, the great tone from the pipes!
As far as dress goes, what strikes me (though a minor thing) is that most of the bands have gone to white shirts this year.

I got to see the grade I medleys. Most impressive. Interesting how one of the bands was a little off because the sun came out during their performance. According to the commentator, anyway, I sure couldn`t tell. I was really rooting for Inveraray and District, but alas, maybe next year.

Congratulations to Shotts and Dykehead Caledonia for winning.
It's even made the national (UK) breakfast news programme, even if only for 30 seconds.

Yes I think it ended a ten-year drought; for a decade the Champions have been from Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, and Canada (FMM, SLOT, and SFU).
I was disappointed to not hear piobaireachd; for me it was the most musical, most innovative, coolest thing from last year's Worlds.
Happily the thing of going from Common Time to Compound Time is just nearly extinct!
