Pattern for an Argyle jacket

The 5029 is a good pattern if you can find it. Right now Ebay has a Xsmall to Medium for about 16 bucks or best offer. Link is below.

They have a Large-XL for 40 which is outlandishly priced. If you are looking for a large, 40-42, PM me as I have one I cut to the large size to make a mockup and found it was too small for me. I could also make a copy of my XL for you if you are interested.

I'm no lawyer, but I suspect that falls afoul of copyright law.

If you can't find the original pattern, consider a high quality Saxon jacket pattern with the characteristics we look for in converting ready-mades. If you can inspect a kilt jacket it's easy enough to draft your own version of cuffs, pocket flaps, etc. A Vogue pattern may give you a better tailored body than the Simplicity.

All this from someone who has collected all the patterns, fabrics, accessories but not gotten round-to-it as of yet. . .

I suspect the powers that be at Simplicity have far more important things to worry about than trying to hunt down members of the general public for making copies of old, out of print patterns for their own personal use. Being someone with irons in the respective fires of published music, published illustrations and a published book, I can assure you that modern copyright law for small-time, one-off situations is pretty much a joke, at best. Unless the "criminal" decides to start selling the product you're pretty much out of luck finding anybody who cares.

I couldn't find a copy of the large size for this pattern, so I bought a copy of the small one for $18 off of eBay. I put a sheet of clear plastic over it and drew myself a size large/long. It was pretty obvious how much each one differed from the previous size, so it's not hard to extrapolate additional sizes. My finished version doesn't actually have a single line on it that would match anything on the original.

There are plenty of terrible, nasty things that people do in this world every day. Copying an out of print pattern is pretty far down on the list.
