I'll be convening, so we can always meet up at the Clan Maxwell tent.
Tobus, I hope it works out so that you can be there. It's be a shame to miss one so close to home!
Yep, I'll plan on being there on Saturday. Kerrville is a half-hour from my house, about the same as it is to the Games in Helotes.
I don't know where y'all are getting this info of 92 degrees for that weekend. I just checked the Weather Channel 10-day forecast, and they're saying it will be 100F. Even Accuweather shows 97F. Either way, it will be hot.

Glad you are coming. You're so close it would be a shame to miss it.

Here's the XMarks group photo from the Kerr County Celtic Festival. From left to right: Tobus, cck, ShaunMaxwell, fw kilt and FireboyKirk
It was at times a bit warm, but I had the good fortune of being located under the only tree in the clan area. Fortunately, it wasn't as hot as I'd feared it might be.
Seemed to me like a good turnout of clans and the public for a new event, but I'm sure Kirk can weigh in with more details.
Good to see you all again, and to meet Kirk!

Yeesh. Put a few pints of Guinness in me and I apparently grin like a dork. I somehow unknowingly violated my personal rule of not smiling for photos.
I had a good time and I hope this becomes an annual event that gets bigger and better. The parking situation may need some thought for next time. And I know a lot of folks were having trouble finding where to buy beer; the fact that it was around the corner and out of sight was confusing.
For a first time event, though, I thought it came off well. It was set up well with the overall layout and there was plenty of space. I was glad to have clouds and a breeze, which made it quite pleasant for mid-August. And the organisers made sure everybody had plenty of water. That was outstanding!

At least you didn't get caught between smiles! Lol. I look like I'm chaffed!
Thanks to those that came out. We had a great weekend, and even though it was a bit spicy on the weather side, attitudes were good and smiles were aplenty. Already planning the next one.

Alright Tobus, to preserve your sober demeanor, and to show Fireboykirk's smile, I replaced the photo with one that does both.
Cheers!

Fest
That photo is much better!I would have thought a bit of photoshop on my middle section would have been just a curtesy though. Lol.
Well the fest was a success! 750 guest, 13 clans, 10 entertainers, cleared our bills, money in the bank, AND got invited back by the venue owners! I'll take that for a first attempt! Our next goal will be to find a cooler time slot.
I want to thank the xmarkers that came out and supported the cause. It was great to meet those that I have known through the forum for some time. Clan Maxwell provided a meeting spot, and we were able to find the biggest tree on the venue to put their tent under. It worked out well.
Cheers and thanks again,
Kirk
