Fantastic! Congratulations on making it happen, Kirk. And thanks for giving us another Highland-themed event to attend each year. We have so few of them down here, and it's great to see this kind of thing growing from the ground up, instead of dying off (like it did in Houston).
That photographer from the Kerrvile Daily Times took a photo of a couple of us, and was floating around the grounds for a while. I've been checking their website to see if they had a story posted, but haven't seen anything yet. I'm not a subscriber, so I may not be able to see it if it's there. Have you checked with them to see if/when they're going to run the story in the printed paper?

Congratulations
I'll add my congratulations. Great "First Annual"! A few hiccups, but I've seen worse from events which have been going for years. Popeye's might be good but some Scottish fare would be a plus. Looking forward to next year. Maybe I can add Clan Scott to the list.

Pics
I haven't been able to find any info from the paper, but a friend of mine was taking photos of the entire event. Here's a link to his site if you want to look at them. I'm not advertising for him, he just took some really great photos....

I had a good time and I hope this becomes an annual event that gets bigger and better. The parking situation may need some thought for next time. And I know a lot of folks were having trouble finding where to buy beer; the fact that it was around the corner and out of sight was confusing.
For a first time event, though, I thought it came off well. It was set up well with the overall layout and there was plenty of space. I was glad to have clouds and a breeze, which made it quite pleasant for mid-August. And the organisers made sure everybody had plenty of water. That was outstanding!
You were smiling?

I was in the first photo that was posted; it was replaced with the one you see now.

Thanks. It's a Tilley LTM5 Airflo. The LTM5 has a narrower brim than their popular LTM6 version.
