I pipe with the Baltimore City Pipe Band. Still pretty new at it (six years), but I'm having fun.
It is by caffeine alone I set my mind in motion...

You are learning from one of the best. John Cairns is a phenomenal piper.

Certainly! He was recommended over the 'green book', due to my position of learning for myself and posterity - not necessarily for a pipe band situation - or maybe he just had a surplus of JC lessons he was needing to move, who knows LoL. I have his first three lessons, which presumably will get to the point of transitioning to the pipes. Luckily, there are a couple working pipers up the road a bit that can give private lessons. Plowing away!

His Bagpipe Solutions training program is highly regarded, so it wasn't merely a case of overstock. .
I learned with the College of Piping books (#1 being the afore mentioned "Green Book") and Logan's Tutor, as did thousands of pipers.
All are excellent stepping stones to the process.

So cool to have so many pipers and drummers here!
It would be nice to have photos of everybody, especially kitted out, and with their instrument.

Maybe we could all send a photo to a single place and someone with skills in Photoshop could amalgamate us. The X Marks Pipes & Drums. Just so you know, I'm not volunteering. It was done here with our musicians and perhaps it could happen with a pic of our pipers and drummers.
