The competitors came from far and near. Sri Dasmesh came from Malaysia and were the first ever Malaysian Sikh pipe band in the competition. They got a huge round of applause after playing. I'm having trouble uploading video, but I'll keep trying

I got to attend the "Worlds" way back in 1985. I was living in Wishaw, and the event was in the neighboring town, Motherwell (I think I have that right...it was a while ago). Anyway, it was fantastic. I spoke with performers from all over the world. I had no idea of all the places who had pipe bands (like Tokyo, Japan). At one time, there were, I believe over 1500 pipers and drummers on the soccer field, all performing Scotland the Brave together. Wow, what a sight and sound!
