Best wishes to the Queen of Scotland, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand and many other Nations of the British Commonwealth.
The Queen is due in my home area today for the official re-opening of the Borders Railway.
Unfortunately I can't be among the crowds of wellwishers lining the route as I will be working for part of the day.

Here is an informal (and somewhat lengthy) record of the proceedings giving a flavour of the Borders, the First Minister, the Queen and a well-known steam locomotive.

(HM was an hour late as her helicopter could not take off from Balmoral due to weather conditions.)

I will definitely be raising a toast to Her Majesty later today. She has long had my admiration.

Long Live Queen.
She has always conducted herself with dignity and grace. May she continue to do so for many more years. Congratulations to those of you in the Commonwealth.

Well wishes for the British Monarch to rule over the British, fair enough, but I am not thrilled that a foreign monarch (who can never be a Roman Catholic by the way although he/s could be a Muslim) is the head of state of Australia.
I am even less thrilled that all Australians are prohibited from attaining the highest honour of representing their country as head of State of Australia.
It seems to me that this topic is in the realm of Rule 5.
