Understood...and would an attempt be made to match material? This another subjective area?

Great acquisition. Those vintage jackets have a character I find lacking in most of today's run-of-the-mill offerings.

Sorry I misinterpreted your inquiry. I have seen some splendid pairings (both in the past and contemporary) that were tasteful but not too matchy-matchy. IMO, if it looks good, go for it.

No worries! And good to know, I would tend to agree. Makes life easier when trying to put together a vintage outfit for sure!

Nice catch, Mike; and so nice to get the waistcoat. I always check those out when they list on Ebay to see if they will fit me. Was that the one that said there was some wear/flaw on the edge of the waistcoat?

Plaid preacher , yes the seller did mention there was some minor wear . However , the jacket and waistcoat look almost brand new . I don't see any sign of wear and the heavy tweed fabric still has quite a bit of that new stiffness to it . It is an older jacket and waistcoat as the labels on the inside breast pocket have an aged look . Although , I don't think the seller wore it much .
I know what you mean on sizes . I generally wear a US size 40 jacket , however , on the older kilt jackets I generally go for a size 42 as they tend to have tapered cut to them .

Hey Rebel ! Yes , I plan to wear them unless the temp jumps up to 80 like it did today . The jacket and waistcoat are made from some fairly heavy tweed , definitely made for highland weather .
Are you and the missus going to the Indy games ?
