Thanks, DrakeC. It's a DeSantis 2.25" Duty Belt (gun belt) that I got on Amazon. It has nice finished edges, neat stitching, and the inside is smooth, undyed leather so nothing will rub off on the kilt. I wish I could find one in brown.

Note that the size is indicated in the number ... for the one I've got linked, E35BL42Z1, the waist size is 42 inches.

Honestly, because I had never heard that the chain should be worn underneath the belt, and because I put the belt on before the sporran. I'll try putting the chain under the belt but I do wonder if that might be hard on the fabric. Anyway, it seems that wearing it the way I do might be a tolerable eccentricity. At least I don't have the kilt on backwards!

I had the same thought regarding the sporrin chain wearing the fabric. I also like the idea of being able to move and remove my sporran without concern for my belt.

I found this old thread discussing the issue:

    http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/f...ilt-belt-9250/

I think I'll stick with over the belt wear, traditional or no.

By under, he may mean below the belt as opposed to sandwiched between belt and kilt. I wear mine that way, sometimes the sporran belt may ride over the kilt belt at the back, but that is not an issue. It is not necessary to feed the sporran belt through the kilt belt loops for it to stay up and it is useful to be able to swivel it to the side if required.
If you are going to do it, do it in a kilt!

I continue wearing my kilts on the days that ended with a Y in the end. ;)

I wore my Glyndwr kilt. I had to change my Jeep's flat tire, donated my blood plasma, did some errands, and cooked dinner. It was a real nice day to wear a kilt today in Denver.

I thought it was about time to post another picture given that I have been very diligent about maintaining Kilted Fridays at the Teen Center I help run. We had the official grand opening of our new facility on Friday October 2nd and one of the activities was a "Lip-sync Battle" between a bunch of community leaders (county council, high school vice-principal, superintendent of schools, etc.) and myself as the sole representative of our staff.

I choose "Fight For Your Right To Party" by the Beastie Boys and gave it my best in my USA Kilts Scruffy Wallace Casual. I did not win, but I did make the cover of a local newspaper (http://www.ladailypost.com/content/joy-explodes-teen-center)

If you sounded half as awesome as you look you surely should have won. I love the faces of the audience, they are clearly enraptured. Rock on!

I attended a rally on the Ole Miss (Univ. of Mississippi) campus Friday. Decided not to wear my kilt but did don my glengarry with Colquhoun clan badge. I wore a sign stating, "READ MS. Code 37-13-5." My position was to promote education of a sensitive subject by those not familiar with the law. I interacted with people from both sides of the debate without distracting from the event. I was asked (from those that know I will wear a kilt) where my "skirt" was. I'm still working to inform the masses.

After having a great early morning walk, I stopped by a farm stand to pick up some apples. Beautiful sunny PA morning, so I have the roof down on the car. As I walk up to the stand, the guy says. "Top down, pants off, great way to start a Friday". Most original line said to me so far, gave us both a laugh! A good start to a Kilted Friday.

    Friday in PV

Not only am I in PV, I am also in PV! The Freedom Kilt casual in Puerto Vallarta. This is the very first time I have been kilted without hose (the shock of it all!! ) Didn't take me long to accept myself wearing sandals. The casual worn quite casually is comfortable and I have an appreciation of the comments on cloth weight from those of you in warmer parts of the world.

Its a beautiful, rainy day. Some time to sit and read TAOK
