I hope you are able to find classes for both you and your daughter. I've been (poorly learning) the sword dance on my own. I would practice more with a troop, visualize posture and technique better if I joined a class. I'm glad you recognize the need for yourselves. Good luck.

As far as dance goes, this is a great resource for finding a teacher: http://www.discoverscottishdance.com/find-a-teacher/
Additionally, if there is not a teacher near where you will be living, many teachers now offer lessons via Skype (which can be much more effective than you might think!)
I'm a certified teacher in Michigan, but am happy to help in whatever way I can to connect you to a dance instructor.

Thanks I got connected to a pipe band in the Eugene area and their going to contact their membership to see if there are instructors for both the pipes and dance closer to where I;m going to be living. Still if anyone else had suggestions feel free.
