I'm genetically a Howell. Been to Wales twice, once to Caernarfon and thereabouts, stayed at the Black Boy, lovely place. Great castell. That was in 3/11.
Then I flew into Heathrow, caught a ride up to Cambridge, rented a Triumph Bonnie and rode over to Crickhowell were I met up with some buddies of the Dragon Bikers Welsh Biker Forum.
Best motorcycle riding anywhere, Wales. The Bear in Crickhowell was lovely as well.

I am only around 12 miles from Crickhowell (Crug Hywel) but I have never sampled the pub.
Glad you know the beauty of this area though!

Welcome from the highlands of central Massachusetts. So you'd recommend searching family history through these sorts of sites? I might do that.

Thanks all for the very warm welcome! I apologize for posting once, then disappearing. Ancestry.com was calling all weekend!
Every time I start to zero in on a particular tartan, I find new clans. Still no closer to a kilt, therefore, but at least I'm making *some* progress in narrowing down my choices!
