I wear about 3 pounds (maybe that's an exaggeration) of keys and other paraphanalia hanging from the key hook on my Utilikilt. The jingling sound helps my wife find me in a crowd if I wander off.
I don't think sporran tassles would be noisy enough.

I love the bouncing tassles, it makes me feel as if I am marching to the beat of my own drum. I can see how you would want to quiet them down at times though.

I solved the problem by removing the tassles from the hard leather sporran, and purchasing a Rob Roy from Buzz Kidder.
Drumming drove me nuts. (Yes, short trip.)
