Since you are in Prague have you met Vaclav Rout, the designer of our tartan, and been to his shop Whisky & Kilts?
Zdravím!
How cool is that to find someone with Czech heritage! Fly high the eagle of Moravia ;)
Regarding mr. Rout, I sure met him, actualy he imported the Czech national tartan for some 15 interested guys like me and the it is him who takes care of the production after taking my measures And now I only have to wait..
But actualy I did not want to only wait for me first "real" heawyweight kilt and as I had one friend of mine in US, so I took a quick action and tried to order an economy (better quality is not availiable now) kilt from Stillwater Kilts as I saw here it should have been correct. So I just got my first Christmass gift now and as you can see (hope the upload will work), I recieved the all black kilt as my metal outfit for concerts Just tried to put it on, could you guys tell me if it is okey for your eyes? I have to get quickly a belt (think I will go for something like this one http://www.drakkaria.cz/kuze-brasnar...a-prezka.html/ with proper leather belt), I know and have to put the sporran on, but this could be more tricky, I got the economy version from SWK just to try it out, but althougt being made of leather, it is really hard, sounds and feels like a plastic, so I will try to work it a little with wax to make it more soft and try to wear it after.. would you have suggestions, remarks, corrections? Thanks very much in advance!

People ask all the time but, it's not really any of their business. Wearing the kilt is a very personal choice and you should wear your kilt however you feel most comfortable doing so and not how others might expect.

Hi Nile,
thank you for all, you are right that underwear is not the point of kilt, but I have to say, it is one of the huge benefits, also for our health ;) And a funny thing, on the notice that came with my new kilt from SWK there´s a few advises for new kilt wearers and one of them is: "Be prepared for the questions about your underwear" So I will just be cool with that ;)
Have fun!

Omlouvám se že nemám dnes moc času (jdu do práce), ale vítám vás a taky bych si moc rád koupil náš krásný tartán...

Welcome from Austin TX from another newbie.
My limited experience - 4 kilted outings- has been it's the men who are curious especially my acquaintances. Women have been complimentary and appreciative. I'm following one XMarkers advice and answering, with a smile, "Lipstick." In truth I find the question inappropriate.
Good luck. Let us know how your "metal" & tartan kilts.
Steve

It has been because of that uncomfy feeling that I have become a daily kilt wearer. I am mostly casually dressed in utility and PV kilts at the office because I get called out to the field in the mud and muck. I kick it up a notch or two or three when out and about for fun and special occasions, often then I pick from my stable of wool kilts. I have 8 wool in various tartans, fabric weights, yardage and pleating styles and 10 other kilts, tartan and non-tartan in other materials. I find it very confining when, for one reason or another, I need to wear trousers. I hope one day to be able to meet by kilted brothers in the Czech Republic.

A warm Scottish welcome from middle England.
If you are going to do it, do it in a kilt!

Hello from western Pennsylvania and the great city of Pittsburgh! Part of my ancestry is from the Czech republic - didn't realize it had a national tartan. Glad you Czeched out kilts!
I fear the day that technology will surpass our human interaction. The world will have a generation of idiots. Einstein (maybe)
