Community Christmas Celebration
My band was invited to perform (outdoors) for a small community Christmas celebration tonight for the 2nd year in a row... and I have now done it twice kilted.
No action shots, but here's one of the band, and one of my outfit I took after I got home. The temperature would probably seem fairly mild to many of you, but for those of us in Texas it was a wee bit chilly to spend all evening outdoors in the high to mid 40's (F). The wool kilt and wool sweater kept most of me quite comfortable.
I'm not sure if the scarf is a tartan or not, but it was made in Scotland... I hadn't worn it since well before my kilted days.
American Heritage Tartan 8 yard wool ex-rental from USA Kilts. Being a bit of a rock-n-roller at heart, and a biker, I'm still partial to tall black boots. I plan on looking into some more footwear to use with the kilt, and I'm itching to upgrade my sporran from the entry level model.
It was a fun night with many approving looks, a few compliments, some confused faces, one "nice skirt" from a teenage girl (I just said "thank you" and kept walking) and some interesting questions about staying warm. All followed by a brief stop at some dear friends' home to wrap up their own annual Christmas party.
