I tried zooming in to look closer whilst on my phone but that was an excercise in futility. I'd imagine a hidden pocket in a pleat would be fantastic, though with a razor honed Sgian in my hose top it would be a tad redundant. I think the pocket might be quite useful for cash or if big enough, for a credit card and pilots license.

I managed to zoom in on it. It's one of those very flat, very sharp folding lockbacks with a clip on it like a ball-point pen has. If it's like mine it won't have much weight to effect the swing or hang of the kilt a lot. Bit of an affectation to me but interesting. p

The tartan is available from Paul Henry kilts, I don't know where the Harris came from. By the jumper and boots in the photo I would say the kilt came from North of Hadrians kilts and clothing. One of the owners learnt everything he knows about kilts, including the under apron pocket from the owner of this forum

I like the idea for a spot to slip a spare key or perhaps a fiver. I just thought the idea of using the extra material within the kick pleat was interesting. It is a great looking kilt even without the pocket.
