Questions re: kilt from estate sale

    Hello!

I hope that I'm posting this message on the proper forum. This kilt was acquired at an estate sale by an acquaintance and measures:

53 inches from edge to edge, lying flat
22 inches from top to bottom

Other than that, nothing is known about the kilt. With my wee bits of knowledge, I see that it's pleated to the stripe. But other than that ... all we have are these pictures. What do you think?

    Thanks!
    Jonathan

    Image fixer

Thank you, Mike! Did I do something incorrect when I uploaded the images?

    Thanks,
    Jonathan

Thanks, figheadair; I got that far as well but I don't know how to interpret the other markings.

    Regards,
    Jonathan

They look like the number of the kilt made by that maker (firm or individual) and possibly some reference to a date and/ customer.

    size?

It is easy enough to figure out the size- just buckle the kilt and measure. That may be a useful thing to know. Of course, what is even more useful is knowing if it fits the owner, who can strap it on and see.

There is always a tiny chance that the maker of the kilt will recognize it. Does that say PMH? Does PAUL HENRY mark his kilts that way? Is his middle initial even M? Or have I led you astray for no good reason?

Does the new owner think he may want to sell it?
