It does have a certain charm, no?
Steve, my wife got me an authentic, full size Red Ryder leg lamp years ago for our anniversary. Not knowing what was in that big box, I said "Its a major award!" as I opened it...only to find that lamp! Priceless.

That's awesome. You do have it displayed in a front window where the entire neighborhood can see it, right?

Evil Spawn of Hell...
OK...I'm a Newbie - this is my very first post/comment/mechanically produced response on this site and I'm under observation to assure
I'm being civilized/not out of line/or otherwise nasty, but in regards to The Lamp conversation - perhaps one of you
will be kind enough to let me know if it was wrong of me to immediately upon seeing...The Lamp...to have the words in my head
(as all the alarms went off!), "What evil spawn from hell produced that thing!?" Maybe it's just me. As I said - I'm new.
FYI: I think The Lamp from "Christmas Story" is a classic after all - it's Italian - Fragile...

Being a new member does not discount your opinion. The Rabble recognizes when one man's trash is another's treasure. It makes the group more interesting.
To the dismay of some, you spoke for others that would remain silent.

Awww...or "Ach!"
Come on, folks - educate me or deal with idiotcy...
So...
"Ach!"?
I still find the "Leg Lamp" hilarious...and I have unfortunately known too many people who view it as a true "Work d'Artiste." Maybe I just need to get out more.

FYI: My evil brother (the real one, not the one I chose!) once convinced me to stick my tongue on the freezer shelf...and I was trapped there for an hour before I shredded my tongue.
Did I mention he was evil? The freezer was in our basement, which had 2 feet thick cement walls...down more than 18 feet of stairs, subflooring, insulation, dirt. No one heard me shrieking my head off. Am I the only poor sap with a truly evil brother?

Well, no, but most of the rest of us had it manifest in different ways.
