Are you Scottish?
Just as my bus is pulling up to the stop, a woman walking by taps me on the elbow and asks, "Are you Scottish?"
I adlibbed quickly.
"Why? Do I look cheap? Why do people have to stereotype everyone?"
She sputtered for a second, then said, "I only asked because you're wearing a kilt!"
I shook my head, as if exasperated.
"There you go again!" and I got on the bus. I held my laughter until the bus pulled away.

I get annoyed with the innane questions myself sometimes. My guess is because that's the crap were taught practically from the day we're born. We learn to gauge other people by the group we think they fit into. Sad but true. You have the perfect reason for wearing a kilt anyway... Your a kiltmaker with a business to promote. Next time, give 'em a sales pitch and a business card. 8)

I don't mind stupid questions. Asking questions is one of the smartest things we can do.
I get annoyed when asked questions by people who have not thought the question through or who could figure out the answer with a bit of thought. I dislike lazy or voluntary stupidity. I call these people drones.
I'd rather make someone think than sell them a kilt. Most of these drones will not wear a kilt or think. Deciding to wear a kilt requires one to think in a new way. Drones don't think in new ways. Drones vote the way their parents voted. Drones stay in the same job their whole lives. Drones fear change.
Drones wear pants.
