Ulster kilt

Hiya,

I recently became acquainted with Matthew Newsome's website and his articles and have developed an interest in that style of kilt. May I inquire as to your experience with them?

I have known Matt for years and have 4 of his box pleated kilts the Ulster is one of them and was my first in the 4 yard box pleat style. I think they are wonderful for warm weather and would not hesitate to recommend both the 4 yard box pleat and Matt Newsome as a kilt maker.

Thanks a million for your reply. Sadly, it seems that Matt is very busy and isn't taking any orders anytime soon. Perhaps when his list opens up, I may ask for one. Keenly interested.

Lovely kilts, needless to say! Nice jacket too! (I'm going through some sport jackets that I have and will ask, beg, plead with my wife to help me cut one down to a more kilt-appropriate style.)

Thanks the jacket was one I purchased from a local tartan shop on consignment I find going to ebay or seeing whats for sale on the forum works for me.

For me to follow suit, I should find out my size first ... Would a kilt jacket size be the same as a typical suit/sport jacket?

Generally go up one size as British sizing is tighter than US sizing.
