Don't know how world-wide BBC iplayer is but, if you want a good New Year Ceilidh, here it is (with subtitles for the non-Gael)

Phil is right with the, "available in the UK only". A note further down states there are only 29 days of program broadcasting from the air date of Dec. 30, 2015.

Tis a shame for all of us that enjoy music.

Sometimes these things are available on some Skye channel or another or sites that can make it look as though you're in the UK.

Ailean, I had the pleasure of watching the celebrations on BBC 1 Scotland last night and seeing the fireworks over the Castle in Edinburgh. More kilties in the one on Alba... but BBC 1 had the Bay City Rollers. (I would have rathered the kilts)

For those wanting to view the show noted above, you will require a VPN (virtual proxy network) set to Great Britain to do so. Hula (Hula.com) is one I have used that has offered good results, but there are others.

Happy New Year to one and all.

    Robert

As a lowlander I watched the BBC production which was broadcast from the Fruit Market in Glasgow with live outside cuts to Edinburgh.
Woody of the Bay City Rollers was certainly very colourful, was that a Buchanan kilt he was wearing with a Loud McLeod scarf?
The Boghall and Bathgate Pipe Band looked very smart in their Fraser Hunting Muted kilts.

If Xmarks the SCOT can't get Scottish TV, Youtube will have to do. Here is Robyn Stapleton singing a song from the Northeast that she sang at the Ceilidh - sorry it's just part of a concert here. She was BBC Radio Scotland’s Young Traditional Musician of the Year in 2014
