I have a stumptown which works great for holidays like thanksgiving dinner and I am able to adjust as needed. Got mine on eBay less than $100. Another way to solve the issue is to add snaps to a kilt like in the photo you posted. Snaps are very easy to install and the side straps work well for adjustments. I have a UT kilt that I modified for working in and the snaps did the trick. I know the feeling as it is not like just buying another pair of jeans. Good luck.
