Jock and thescot together again for the first time

@Jock Scot, a couple of years ago, you begged off joining us by claiming it was a little too far to drive. Then you drove to Normandy. I know it's true, I saw the pictures. So, know that you are invited for the 23rd. Should the car develop trouble in it's water wings, we'll pour a dram and place it at your seat.

Now, if we can just find someone to stand in as your proxy to drink it.

I do wish that wee bit of Atlantic would shrink! Truth be known, I have never developed a liking for haggis, or, Mr. Burns. I think Jim(TheScot) is attending your do, so I would be delighted if someone could furnish him with a dram on my behalf. There are many that I would be delighted to appoint as a "proxy Dram drinker" but Jim and I have "known" each other for a wee while now. Besides, I doubt that he has forgotten that he still owes me a dram, so what is one more, or another one, going to matter! Have a great time, all of you!

I imagine we could get up a good game of buffets for the privilege of drinking that wee dram. Good wholesome entertainment for all.

    Stil need commitments

Wil and Jim were planning to talk to the Tavern this weekend, so let them know if you want to attend.

@Creag, did you get word for the program that Lamar's friend Charlie will be doing a song? Red, Red, Rose. Program looks good. The above picture looks like exactly what Jim was hoping for when he asked for help.

Smile When is No One Plus One Equal Two?

When No One is "Deil the Yin"... get it? Har-har!

Anyway... apologies for the radio silence- I've been counting my shillings. And I am planning on being in attendance at this year's Supper plus one, ie two of us. Thank you gentlemen for your efforts to keep this great tradition alive. I have to say the programme looks great and I look forward to taking part in some form or fashion with "A Man's a Man...".

Was wondering if we could plan a group photo shoot for just before 6pm, you know, for posterity? And of course because if we don't come back with photos... it didn't happen! I'm planning to bring my wee camera and tripod (even wee-er), so maybe we'll all be able to get in the shot at the same time...

    Looking forward to it!

    Cheers,
    Wesley

Okay ... for the entertainments, I've got the following gathered from this thread and a few emails

    • Diel the Yin (A man's a man)
    • Jim (Tam O' Shanter)
    • Charlie (Red, Red Rose - a song) with Lamar accompanying

Michael - what is Charlie's and Lamar's surnames? I'm planning to print an insert with these guys listed

Anyone else up for a poem or a song?

Charlie Hollins, Lamar Britt. As in Ferguson Britt Sporrans. He was sick for more than a week earlier in the month
and was getting in a crunch to get orders out, so I don't have confirmation yet on whether he was able to work on that.
Charlie is prepared to do solo if not. I will confirm earliest.

I will be doing "Banks and Braes o' Bonnie Doon"either solo or with Jim. A short mention of the ceilidh tradition will precede, as Charlie wants to offer info on his contribution.
