    Cool Brrrrr-tastic

Over the last few years I have worn a kilt every day. Here is a photo of me walking to university when it was -46 and with a -40 windchill on top. The kilt is a 16oz box pleated Dewar tartan. Under the jacket I wore a black cashmere Jumper, a shirt, and a t-shirt. The hose are some of Rocky's hand-knit hose and under them were a pair of merino wool ski-socks. My walk is about 4 miles and I was perfectly toasty. Though I confess to adapting my shemagh on the way to cover my ears!

Good Lad!!! I'm right there with you--it has to get really, Really, REALLY cold here in Chicago for me to completely forgo wearing my kilts, if only to make a statement (or perhaps several). It's all in the layering...

Cold I don't mind a bit, it's high winds that cut through my clothes layers to chill me to my core, windy winter days in Chicago suburbia I forgo the kilt

Aye, that's why God created Trews. As we cyclists and motorcyclists will attest, it's not the Cold, it's the Wind. "A man's got to know his limitations..."
