    I've had to play pipes up on a raised platform like that, and wished for a longer kilt!

    The piper is great. (There is only one.) So cool starting off with a display of piobaireachd technique, all those crunluath movements. The blazing fingerwork required impressed audiences in the 17th century, and can do so today.

    Then the technically demanding Donald MacLeod composition, the strathspey Susan MacLeod. However the drumming was quite different from what Highland drummers normally use to accompany a strathspey.

    Note the drummers wearing Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders Glengarries. Fat Bastard did too.

    Brandy, someone------- now---------a large one!

    How can these people prostitute Scotland's National attire in such a way? Being accomplished pipers gives them absolutely no excuse to not knowing how the kilt should be worn-----------and "I was only following orders" as an excuse, just will not do!

    Sadly, Jock, there's a huge gulf between performers, artists, re-enactors, and historians vs. appropriate traditionally aware haberdashery.

    I'll send you a strong shot though; I'll need the other half of the bottle myself!

    If the brandy could arrive in the next ten minutes Bill then that would be handy. If I understand your comment about my tagline correctly, then I see no contrast at all. Precious little wisdom, probably taking second place to greed, has been used by those pipers in their dress requirements, their minds must have been idling when their outfits were being discussed and not standing up for what is right, with probably Madonna in her well known tyrant role adding her views pretty strongly.

    Kilted skirts, I would say, probably necessary for the dancers but why for the musicians? As I recall Madonna used to look good in shorter skirts - perhaps we should be thankful she didn't insist on minis? !

    Have to agree with you. I enjoyed the whole thing. Yes, I did think the kilts were a wee long, but the entire performance was rocking. By the way, the only sad thing to me, is that I am only about seven months older than Madonna. She is in better shape. She is richer. She can still move. Dang. I am jealous. LOL

    Entertaining performance, but I have to echo the sentiment, What's with the dress? Certainly the elevation of the platform may have a role in the length, but the extra length of the kilt just looks odd to anyone who has ever worn/been around kilts.

    I hope that's not the pipers regular peformance dress!
