Why wait for April. Come out to Fair Park for the North Texas Irish Festival this weekend. The Scottish village (clan tents) is in the Automotive building. While we don't have the highland games, we do have the clans, music and this year, Kilted Storm troupers.....
Several xmarkers (including myself) will be there.

You may not win any of the heavy events at the games but that needn't stop you having a go! You'll have to rely more on technique than brute strength but that's OK. Or you might want to try backhold wrestling, uniquely Scottish but in several weight divisions.
