Does anyone have a utility kilt from...

I came across http://angrybastardkilts.com/ yesterday. I hadn't heard of them before, nor could I find any reference to the here at XMTS... but I could have easily missed it.

Right out of the gate you'll notice that a couple of the names they've given to the different kilts they offer are a bit silly and technically incorrect (Black Watch, Highland Guard). I suppose they're trying to be a little creative and I can overlook that stuff if the products are of good quality. They claim to be American made.

I was able to find that they applied for their DBA Name on March 23, 2015 by Kim Weston:
    http://www.bizapedia.com/ut/ANGRY-BASTARD-KILTS.html

Chase Weston seems to be part of the deal as well...
    http://www.westoninteractive.com/resume/
    http://www.westoninteractive.com/cas...-bastard-kilts

Anyway, If any of you have any experience with this company and their products I'd be curious to know what you think.

    Thanks!

During my Year of the Kilt (2015) and subsequent Utility Kilt Showdown, I contacted them to learn a bit more about the company and product... and never heard anything in response.

The website has changed since August, when I started contacting people, so *someone* must be doing things behind the scenes!

    Hey Matt!

I actually got a little bit of email communication with them, and a couple of their product names (which I commented on) all of the sudden got changed on their website as well. The're pretty new, very small, and trying to figure some things out on a limited marketing budget. Interesting to hear about your experience. Thanks for chiming in. Hope you're staying kilted some days!

Yes sir! Doing about one or two days a week right now to ease myself back into it. Had to lose a few pounds after the holidays to start fitting back into all my kilts!

If you hear back from Angry Bastard, I'd be interested to hear what they have to say. Looks like they might have a decent product!

Matt, that *someone* would be myself, Steve Weston. I work the website and I do things behind the scenes, as nefarious as that may sound, it is simply maintaining our website, updating it as needed, making changes where we deem changes need to be made. Simply put, working our business. As a matter of fact, I did respond to your request for a donated kilt and explained that we would not be able to participate. We reviewed your youTube program, along with your traffic statistics and felt that it was not for us at the time. I have a copy of our correspondences if you need them. We are a very small start up company and work with a meager self financed advertising budget, limiting where we can put our advertising dollars. I do not advertise my wares on this forum because I simply can not afford the cost. I am 100% disabled, financing my business off of my meager monthly disability check so my wife can stay at home to care for me.

IF anyone else has any questions about my business, there is an 800 number on every page of the website. Our email address is also on our contact page. I will be more than happy to answer any of your questions and I am quite positive that many of our customers will be more than happy to give you a reference to the quality of our work and our customer service.

Thanks for the response Mr. Weston. Those of us "out of the loop" are interested in any routes to keep kilted. I wish the best for your business and future health.

Thank you very much Tarheel. And for those of you who consider this "advertising", please understand that I came into this particular thread because of a link from this site to mine. I read this post previously, when MinusD asked about my business, before Matt got into the conversation. I spoke privately with MinusD about my company. He was asking questions about my company, divulging company information within this thread, and I wrote to him explaining the who, what, where and why of our business. The other day, in going through my stats, I again noticed that there was a link from this website. I came into the thread to see what was being posted about my business. Saw that Matt had made some comments which could be construed as detrimental to the ethics of my business and commented. I WAS NOT ADVERTISING. I was responding to questions about our authenticity and business practices and how anyone could get the information they needed. PERIOD.

Now, the owner of this site has admonished me that I am not to advertise on this site without paying the price to do so. I have stayed out of this forum for the most part because no matter what I say it seems it is deemed as advertising, even when giving another user of this site advice in the simplest of matters. I have been warned that my Avatar and user name contain part of my business name, thus may be construed as "advertising". I guess my personality is at question as well. Angry Bastard simply denotes the anger-filled son of a bitch that I truly am. However, let it be known, I will continue to monitor comments or links from any other website, including this one, and when necessary, uphold the good name of my business, our reputation, and our products.

I do apologize if any of the paying businesses have gotten their panties in a bunch because I "advertised" in defense of my business, my reputation, or my products.

Dear Host... you may remove me from your database at your own discretion. I have received, yet again, your admonishment to cease and desist. Please however note, that I will continue to monitor threads or conversations pertaining to my business and respond appropriately.

    Steve Weston,

I am very sorry that you took my message as an admonishment.

What I said was - And this is a copy of the Personal Message I sent -

" Hello, when you first registered it was not clear that you were affiliated with the Company.

Now that you have posted as the owner I am required to direct your attention to our Policy on Member Profiles, Graphics and Signature Blocks.
The entire policy may be found within our FAQ's or by this link - http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/f...rofiles_policy

I'll copy the pertinent sections for you.

Usernames or avatars will not be, or contain, a Company name or Logo with the exception of paid advertisers.

No commercial links, company names, contact information, nor any direct or indirect advertising are allowed in Member Profiles, including Signature Blocks, except those granted to paid advertisers under our Advertising Plan.

When you feel you can afford to join our other advertiser you will be most welcome.
Until that time I'm afraid I must ask you to edit your avatar and username.
You may edit your own avatar within your User Control Panel (UserCP) which may be accessed by clicking on the button at the top of every page of the forum.

Your username is the only part of your profile that you cannot edit yourself. I must do that manually within the Admin Control Panel.

If you would please reply to this message with an alternate username I would be happy to edit it for you.

Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter. I hope to hear from you soon."

I'm very sorry that you took this as "I guess my personality is at question as well."

At no time did I accuse you of advertising nor did I imply that you could not post. I am just upholding one rule for everyone. We all participate here as individuals.
I will accept any username or avatar within the policy.
You may have noticed that even myself when posting as Freedom Kilts and Rocky of USA Kilts are individuals first. We are contributing members of this community long before we are spokesmen for our respective businesses.

If you wish to post and contribute to this community you are welcome.
If you wish to join our other advertisers on an even playing field you will also be welcome.
All we ask is that you adhere to the exact same published rules as everyone else.

I also notice that instead of extending me the courtesy of responding to my PM you choose instead to voice your dissatisfaction here on the open forum.

As you did not respond to my PM I have deleted the avatar that contained the Logo of your Company and edited your Username which was your Company Name are replaced it with your given name.
Then while re-reading your post #8 to this thread I noticed that you had entered your Company name to your signature block. As this is another direct violation of our Advertising Policy I have removed that also.

I'm very sorry it had to come to this. If you had simply replied to my PM with an alternate Username and edited your Avatar - And then not added your Company Name to your signature block - All of this would have been avoided amicably.
