Steve Weston,
I am very sorry that you took my message as an admonishment.
What I said was - And this is a copy of the Personal Message I sent -
" Hello, when you first registered it was not clear that you were affiliated with the Company.
Now that you have posted as the owner I am required to direct your attention to our Policy on Member Profiles, Graphics and Signature Blocks.
The entire policy may be found within our FAQ's or by this link - http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/f...rofiles_policy
I'll copy the pertinent sections for you.
Usernames or avatars will not be, or contain, a Company name or Logo with the exception of paid advertisers.
No commercial links, company names, contact information, nor any direct or indirect advertising are allowed in Member Profiles, including Signature Blocks, except those granted to paid advertisers under our Advertising Plan.
When you feel you can afford to join our other advertiser you will be most welcome.
Until that time I'm afraid I must ask you to edit your avatar and username.
You may edit your own avatar within your User Control Panel (UserCP) which may be accessed by clicking on the button at the top of every page of the forum.
Your username is the only part of your profile that you cannot edit yourself. I must do that manually within the Admin Control Panel.
If you would please reply to this message with an alternate username I would be happy to edit it for you.
Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter. I hope to hear from you soon."
I'm very sorry that you took this as "I guess my personality is at question as well."
At no time did I accuse you of advertising nor did I imply that you could not post. I am just upholding one rule for everyone. We all participate here as individuals.
I will accept any username or avatar within the policy.
You may have noticed that even myself when posting as Freedom Kilts and Rocky of USA Kilts are individuals first. We are contributing members of this community long before we are spokesmen for our respective businesses.
If you wish to post and contribute to this community you are welcome.
If you wish to join our other advertisers on an even playing field you will also be welcome.
All we ask is that you adhere to the exact same published rules as everyone else.
I also notice that instead of extending me the courtesy of responding to my PM you choose instead to voice your dissatisfaction here on the open forum.
As you did not respond to my PM I have deleted the avatar that contained the Logo of your Company and edited your Username which was your Company Name are replaced it with your given name.
Then while re-reading your post #8 to this thread I noticed that you had entered your Company name to your signature block. As this is another direct violation of our Advertising Policy I have removed that also.
I'm very sorry it had to come to this. If you had simply replied to my PM with an alternate Username and edited your Avatar - And then not added your Company Name to your signature block - All of this would have been avoided amicably.
