Either of the two I have. Clan Forrester or my personal tartan: https://www.tartanregister.gov.uk/ta....aspx?ref=1232
Probably the second.

20+ years ago... At my wedding. And 27 years before that in my father's wedding. (Viewed by me only in pictures)
Being Latino I think we both pulled it off nicely. Picture Ricky Ricardo.
If I had it do over again..... I would (the wedding and the white jacket)

I like the idea of a white jacket. I almost bought a Saxon one a couple of years ago. I think a white jacket of some type might look good with a kilt. Although I thought the white jackets were normally of a lighter weight fabric due to the climate. So I am not sure how a PC or even an Argyle would look without the thickness of the wool.

It's a variation of the Forrester tartan. Just a few changes to make it distinctive. Found a mill in Scotland that would do an 8 yard run. This was back in the early 80s. Yes, it was expensive, but I don't recall the exact amount.

Consider a white regulation doublet if you have a choice...

A friend of mine has one and I really like the look of it.
(FWIW, I have a white light-weight tunic that was part of a pipe band uniform many years ago. I liked the look of that, too, and it was a life-saver for gigs in hot weather. Herself wasn't so fond of it. She said, and I quote: "You look like a Scottish waiter." Alas, she wasn't entirely wrong. But I still liked it. In fact, I still do like it. It's just not an issue until I lose some more weight.)
Cheers,
-John-

Here's a photo of a friend in White Mess jacket. I think he looks the best of the three

Given the less formal nature of the white dinner jacket, I'd actually suggest a white Argyll jacket rather than a Prince Charlie. A white Argyll also looks more like civilian dress and less like the military tropical mess jacket.
