What is HSH Charlene's Tartan?
Hi!
I love Her Serene Highness's skirt so much that I had John at Keltoi make one for my own princess. (Pictures posted in a separate thread after this evening's dinner at the Legion) As always, John did a magnificent job, but the question has arisen, what is the tartan HSH Charlene of Monaco is wearing? The best I could find online was that it was "her family tartan" (whoop-de-do!) but not what it is.
Help?

I can't tell for sure from the photo, but I think it is the Nicholson tartan, woven by House of Edgar in their muted color scheme:

Yes, that's what it is. There's a much clearer photo at this link:http://static.gofugyourself.com/uplo.../457675827.jpg

It's one of the kilts from that Madonna fiasco...
Joking aside, it looks really great.

Regardless of what tartan it is it reminds me of the old Rod Stewart hit "She wears it well".

That is simply beautiful. Might it be silk?

Three buckles? really? I like the kilted skirt but think the buckles are over done.

I may be mistaken but the kilt pin she has attached appears to resemble one of the Howie Nicholsby, 21st Century Kilt kilt pins. It looks like the kilt may possibly be one of his, it's my understanding that he doesn't sell those kilt pins but rather includes one with each kilt.

I posted this photo in another thread a bit ago. I think we agreed it was Blaylock Reproduction.

Guys,
It's Nicholson. That's the closest surname in her ancestry that is associated with a tartan. Pull up the large photo I linked to and check for yourself.
