I had an older gentleman (extremely smart dresser) tell me once, that I should consider pastel shirts with some outfits to lighten the mood of my ensemble. He liked pink, lavender and yellow shirts; the lighter the shade the better. I found the hint of shaded shirts drew more favorable comments from other folks.
Your kilt allow for a mix of colors with a tie, jacket kerchief and hose (with or without flashes). I feel your photos show maturity in a first kilt outfit. Well done.
