First Friday above 40 degrees and my first kilted Friday at my new job. Only one person asked if I played the bagpipes (which I don't but I did play a mean tuba back in my hay day) and I got quite a rise out of the folks at the hospital. Through it all though, not a single negative comment and I didn't speak with a single person that didn't have a great big smile on their face. 'Twas a great day.
When in Rome, do as the Romans do. The same goes for Iowa.

With Prince passing (an amazing artist who was rather important in my formative years), I decided to break out a pair of purple hose a friend recently gave me and that I have not yet worn. A little "Purple Rain" for kilted Friday.

Nice tribute, and nice tie!

Not an adventure, but I attended a memorial service today for team mate who fell in the line of duty five years ago today. This was what I wore to the event.

Today I wore my Burnett and Struths casual Kilt in Malcolm modern tartan. The residents at the community that I manage are so used to seeing me Kilted no one mentioned it.
At the end of my business day I broke a standing tradition and went to their happy hour to accept a beer from the committee chair of the tennis court committee for the work I did in putting together a contract for the renovation of our tennis courts.

It was a Kilted Thursday and Friday for me and Della, in Royal Stewart in honour of Queen Elizabeth II's 90th Birthday:

My wife and I decided to hit a local smokehouse for dinner yesterday. As we entered the hostess mentioned that there was another kilted gentleman over at the bar. As we were walking out to the car after dinner we happen to run into the other kilty and what I assume were some of his buddies in the parking lot. He started hooting and hollering when he saw that I was kilted as well. We shook hands and one of his buddies said "I got to get me one of those." Told him that USA Kilts was just 2 hours up the road. Another guy standing there actually asked me what I had on under my kilt. I smiled and asked him "how warm are your hands." He immediately backed up raising his hands and said "nope" which generated a good round of laughs as they all headed back in for more pints. It made for a nice little surprise ending to a very pleasant dinner.

Be careful with the "how warm are your hands" bit. I'd be afraid some jokester would try.
